NeurodivergenceVinod was diagnosed as Autistic with Asperger's syndrome at the age of 52. His diagnosis was an "Aha" moment when the last 52 years of his behavior finally made sense. His diagnosis helped him understand himself better and adjust his lifestyle to be more compliant to his unique needs. Most importantly, being diagnosed helped him deal with the "hidden shame" of not being able to control or explain his own behavior.
Vinod's condition is characterized by limited emotional bandwidth, hypersensitivity, limited sensory capacity, masking, inability to make small talk, inability to interpret sarcasm, facial expressions, tone and a tendency to take statements literally.
Vinod has an IQ of 163, is gifted with hyperfocus, high function, diligence, meticulous attention to detail, ability to get to the core of issues and pattern identification. He uses breath work for stability and prefers meditation over medication. Learning, crunching numbers, trail running and the stock market are his favorite safe spaces.
